Syringes: Must be for personal medical use, and the needle guard must be in place. The person must possess medication that is to be administered by means of the syringe or needle and biojectors. To facilitate screening, CATSA recommends that the medication be properly labelled (professionally printed label identifying the medication or a manufacturer’s name or pharmaceutical label).
Tablets (iPad, BlackBerry PlayBook): These items do not need to be removed from cases or bags in order to be screened (see exception). Check with your air carrier for restrictions on the use of these and other electronic devices during your flight.
Tear gas: Please note that this is an illegal item under the Criminal Code of Canada; if it is presented at a pre-board screening checkpoint, protocol requires us to notify the police. This could lead to charges and prosecution to the item’s holder.

Tens machines: Permitted in both carry-on and checked baggage.

Thermos/insulated beverage container (empty): You may bring an empty thermos bottle or other insulated beverage container in your carry-on baggage.
Thermometer containing mercury: Permitted in carry-on baggage only if carried by a representative from a government weather bureau or similar official agency. May be permitted in checked baggage if approved by air carrier.
