Tire pump air compressors —compact, portable devices used to inflate tires— are often powered by electricity, a car battery, or a built-in rechargeable battery. If your device includes a lithium battery:

  • Under 100 Wh (12 V): Permitted in both carry-on and checked baggage
  • Between 100 Wh and 160 Wh: Allowed in carry-on only, with airline approval
  • Over 160 Wh: Not permitted

Ensure the battery is properly installed. Spare batteries must be individually protected to prevent short-circuiting—use original packaging, tape over terminals, or a protective case.
