On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am very pleased to present CATSA’s 2026 Annual Report. CATSA plays an essential role in Canada’s air transportation system by supporting the secure and efficient movement of people and goods across the country and internationally.

In 2025/26, CATSA screened over 70 million passengers, with 96% waiting less than 15 minutes at Canada’s largest airports, 91% reporting a positive screening experience, and 89% expressing confidence in security screening, exceeding CATSA’s targets. These results reflect a secure, efficient, and reliable aviation system that underpins Canada’s economy by enabling trade, tourism, and connectivity between communities, amid global disruption.

Over the past year, CATSA continued to advance its Strategic Plan while laying the foundation for the future of aviation security screening. The Board of Directors oversaw investments in screening modernization, continuous improvement of service delivery and operations, and organizational readiness to respond to evolving risks and rising expectations for service excellence. We are committed to supporting an aviation network that is secure, efficient, resilient, adaptable, and trusted by Canadians.

Innovation remained central to CATSA’s success throughout 2025/26. Investments in modern screening technologies, digital tools, biometrics, and data-driven decision making enable streamlined operations. CATSA continues to pursue efficiencies in our operations to continuously improve our services to travellers, and maintain the highest levels of security effectiveness, while also contributing to the Government of Canada's priorities. By improving resource prioritization and information sharing across the aviation ecosystem, the organization is strengthening its ability to deliver today while preparing for future demands.

Service excellence grounded in respect and inclusivity is a core priority. The Board of Directors has placed particular emphasis on embedding accessibility into policies, programs, and service delivery, supporting a more barrier-free passenger journey. Engagement with persons with disabilities and advocacy organizations, the publication of CATSA’s 2026 to 2029 Accessibility Plan, and continued support for passengers through initiatives such as bilingual facilitators at major airports, drove meaningful improvements for travellers.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I extend my sincere appreciation to CATSA’s government and industry partners for their collaboration and shared commitment to aviation security. I also thank my fellow Board members and CATSA’s senior management for their dedication and stewardship, and CATSA employees and third-party screening personnel who carry out our mandate across the country.

Together, we support CATSA’s important mission of ensuring that Canada’s aviation security system continues to protect travellers, enable economic growth, and serve the public interest.
